SUMMARY

The Racker will begin his/her shift by reviewing the list of jobs due to be run during his/her shift. Rackers are required to check to make sure all material has been pulled, labeled, staged and ready for racking on the anodizing line. This person will be responsible for reading part drawings, instructions and specifications to make sure all material is racked correctly. Rackers are responsible for maintaining a high level of production throughput while processing the material accurately and efficiently, along with the un-racking, labeling and staging for packaging. This person will also be responsible for monitoring the quality of material entering and exiting the finishing line. The Rackers may be responsible for other duties and tasks as may be assigned by their Supervisor or Production Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor or manager.

1) Responsible for contributing to the safety, productivity, and quality of the racking and associated finishing department.

2) Contributes to housekeeping effort in the racking and finishing areas to continually improve in accordance with 5S methods.

3) Read production instructions and interpret part drawings to ensure correct racking, piece counts and the quality of material processed by the racking and finishing department.

4) Follows priorities according to production schedules.

5) Be sure all of your time is recorded in SAF’s cost accounting database. Enter problem reports on the computer as needed.

6) Support a proactive safety environment, with an emphasis on good housekeeping.

7) Use of proper racking technique for aluminum extrusion, sheet, and custom fabrication parts to prevent damage during finishing and optimize load capacity.

8) When racking is slow be willing to help out in the other departments like packing or maintenance.

9) Recommend, implement, and support continuous improvement within the department and the company to improve employee performance, quality control, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.

10) Knowledge and understanding of required safety equipment and its proper usage. Always wear your PPE when required

11) Be flexible: performs various other duties as required by your supervisor

• Find one or two pieces of information in a fabrication finishing drawing, such as finished areas, racking locations or measurable dimensions like length and width.

SUMMARY

The Fabricator will fabricate, assemble, and quality-check sheet and extruded metal products, such as simple and complex brake shapes, column covers, panels, flashing, coping, etc or automotive parts. Work may involve any of the following: setting up, assisting fabricating machines operators such as Brake Press, Shear, Saws, and Rollers to cut, bend, sand, grind and roll sheet metal; welding, packing, inspecting, and assembling, material movement and packing This position will report to the lead within his/her department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accountable for safety, productivity and quality of fabricated or automotive products within a department
• Team member in a specific production department area, e.g. weld.
• Follows priorities according to operational schedules and department Lead’s directions.
• Responsible for maintaining traceability and packaging parts according to SAF guidelines and customer requirements.
• Helps with housekeeping effort in his/her area to continually improve in accordance with 5S methods.
• Knowledge and understanding of required safety equipment and its proper usage. Always wear your PPE when required.
• Read production instructions and interpret part drawings to ensure correct fabrication, surface quality and piece counts. Ensure that customer requirements are met.
• Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material according to drawings or templates, using measuring tapes, calculators, scribes, squares, calipers and rulers.
• Recommend, and support continuous improvement within the department and the company to improve employee performance, quality control, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Notify our Department Leads when problems arise in meeting customer requirements.
• Be flexible: performs various other duties as required by your supervisor.

SUMMARY

The entry-level shipping employee will have overall responsibility for the distribution and warehousing of all incoming and outgoing finished and mill finished goods from SAF Metal Fabrication in Villa Rica, which includes, packaging and shipment of products and materials.  This position can also involve assigning, managing and monitoring personnel to best serve our customers, and promoting and maintaining a safe work environment. This position reports directly to the Shipping Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Pick, package, and ship products and materials to our customers.
• Read production instructions and interpret part drawings to ensure correct piece counts and the quality of material processed by the packing and shipping department.
• Reconcile daily shipping data
• Follows priorities according to production schedules.
• Must be available for necessary overtime
• Interface with our project managers through multiple means to ensure that we are in compliance with our customer’s prescribed shipping methods and requirements.
• Knowledge and understanding of required safety equipment and its proper usage. Always wear your PPE when required.
• Be sure all of your time is recorded in SAF’s cost accounting database. Enter problem reports in the computer as needed
• Notify our project managers when problems arise in meeting customer requirements and negotiate a workable solution for SAF customers

The Welder I (Entry Level) will weld using MIG and TIG welding equipment. All welds are to be done according to drawings and to meet company standards and specifications. Cut, Lay out, position, align and secure parts and assemblies prior to welding operations using straight edges, combination squares, calipers and rulers for  sheet and extruded metal products such as simple and complex brake shapes, column covers, panels, flashing, coping etc. This position will report to the Fabrication Department Lead.
